Ambassador Stéphane Rey pays farewell courtesy call on President Mnangagwa

Swiss Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Stéphane Rey, paid a farewell courtesy call on Zimbabwe President, H.E. Emmerson Mnangagwa in Harare.

The meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on the strong and growing relationship between Switzerland and Zimbabwe during Ambassador Rey’s tenure. Discussions focused on the progress made in bilateral cooperation and the prospects for expanding partnerships in key sectors such as agriculture, the arts, industry and trade.

Ambassador Rey reaffirmed Switzerland’s commitment to supporting Zimbabwe’s development priorities through its cooperation programme, which spans areas including climate-smart agriculture, economic empowerment, youth entrepreneurship, arts and culture, and social development. He also highlighted Switzerland’s interest in strengthening economic and commercial ties between the two countries.

President Mnangagwa acknowledged the positive contribution made by Switzerland to Zimbabwe’s development and welcomed the continued strengthening of bilateral relations. The President and the Ambassador expressed satisfaction with the constructive engagement that has characterised relations between the two countries and underscored the importance of building on this momentum for the mutual benefit of both nations.
